The new album by Beatnik Filmstars is called 'The Purple Fez 72 Club Social' It will be released as a CD and Download (i tunes etc) in October. The album is packed with wonderful tunes and wonderful words, and is an album of surprising sophistication, with equally surprising hints of country, and rock-a-billy. The more experimental noise elements have taken a back seat as the band attempted to "Do anything except the things we'd normally do" ...and yet it still sounds like no one other than Beatnik Filmstars. If you are familiar with their back catalogue, you will be able to follow the trail of clues that have led them to this point. We are just starting work on recording a mini LP for a vinyl only release on 555 Recordings. At present details are minimal, but expect at least 7 new songs as well as a brand new recording of 'Shepherd's Breath' to appear!
